Historic 6-Member Women’s Relay Swim Announced for International Women’s Day
Kukarhalli / Karnataka –
In a remarkable celebration of International Women’s Day, a historic 6-member Women’s Relay Swim has been announced under the leadership of Queenie Victoria Gandam to honor the strength, unity, determination, and spirit of women.
The relay team consists of Queenie Victoria Gandam, Radhika Mandava, Yasmeen Khan, Smita Rajan Katwe, Archana, and Rekha Dinesh Gupta, each bringing dedication, discipline, and determination to this landmark initiative.
The relay event will be conducted on the 22nd and 23rd at Park Street Swim, showcasing women’s endurance, teamwork, and sporting excellence. The initiative aims to encourage greater participation of women in sports, leadership, and public life while fostering confidence and self-belief among young girls and aspiring athletes.
Adding deeper meaning to the celebration, a symbolic international relay swim is scheduled for March 21st, tracing a spiritually significant route from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India. This sea stretch, historically associated with Rama Setu, draws inspiration from the sacred path linked to Sita Mata and symbolizes faith, courage, sacrifice, and unwavering perseverance.
Speaking on the occasion, Queenie Victoria Gandam said, “Women are like the ocean — calm on the surface yet deeply powerful and limitless within. There is always more than meets the eye. A woman carries endless depth, wisdom, and the strength to transform the world.”
This historic relay stands as a tribute to the resilience, courage, and boundless potential of women. It highlights the growing presence of women in endurance sports and serves as an inspiration for future generations.
The initiative is proudly sponsored by Raghavendra Patel, whose financial support has made this ambitious undertaking possible. The overall coordination, planning, and operational management of the event are being overseen by Ganesh Gowda, who is handling the organizational responsibilities to ensure smooth execution.
The organizing team continues to welcome additional support from institutions and well-wishers. Contributions will assist with training, safety arrangements, logistics, equipment, travel, and event coordination.
The organizers invite the public, supporters, sponsors, and members of the media to witness and celebrate this inspiring and historic initiative.
